“I wish I had known Darla when I had my baby …
I am a mother of two littles – Kaiden and Harlow. When I first had Kaiden – 3 ½ years ago now, I can’t tell you how much I wish I had known Darla back then. I was trying to run a business while caring for my newborn and I was one of the first in our group of friends to have a baby. I felt very isolated and like I couldn’t relate to my friends like I used to, along with being completely overwhelmed with life and feeling like I had to navigate this new motherhood gig all on my own. My husband worked shift work and those nighttime feeds felt like the loneliest place in the world. Darla is such a calming, positive and easy woman to relate to, had I known her back then, she would have been exactly what I needed to transition me into new motherhood.
Fast forward to when I first met Darla – she approached us at our shop, Nourish where we make Bulletproof Coffee to see if we wanted to support a Moms Group she was starting in Warman. I knew we definitely needed to support this venture as this was exactly what I wish we had when I had my first! There were no support groups like this available in Warman previously and I know how much this has helped the Mom’s in our community feel a little less alone. To give them that support that was previously unavailable to them is truly priceless. Darla is such an incredible asset to our community. The Moms Group that she has started has truly resonated with so many women and it’s giving them the support they need and it’s so nice to see that it’s growing with new women all the time.
If you’re a mom, do yourself a favor – know that you don’t need to navigate motherhood alone (there’s a lot of us!), get to the group, chat with Darla and find your village!
